• August 18, 2025: Lights are out at several locations along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, but there are no closures at this time.

• Oct. 16, 2025: The Towpath Trail is closed in the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation under the CSX Railroad. Detour: Coming south on Towpath turn left where closure is onto bridge to go over Canal, take APT up the hill behind Canalway Visitor Center, turn left onto Whittlesey Way, take Whittlesey Way to East 49th turn right. Take 49th to entrance to enter back onto Towpath. Coming North turn right off of Towpath at closure, go up hill and turn left onto East 49th. Turn left from E.49th onto Whittlesey Way, take Whittlesey Way down to Canalway Center and enter onto APT behind Canalway. Take APT onto bridge over the canal and turn right back onto Towpath heading north.

• Coming up Monday, October 6 to October 10, 2025: The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail will be detoured from underneath the I-76/77 bridge by Bowery Street to Lakeshore Boulevard for construction, from 8:00 a.m. Monday to 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 10. The trail will reopen on the weekend at 4:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 a.m. Monday, October 13. The trail will again be detoured until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17.
