Built below the dam and feeder of the Tuscarawas River, this is the only guard lock on the canal from Clinton north to Cleveland. It was used to control the water level in an attempt to avoid flooding the town (which worked... sometimes). Excess water was shunted around the lock to a millrace where it powered the sawmill east of the Ohio & Erie Canal.
Hale Farm & Village is a living history museum operated by the Western Reserve Historical Society and is within the boundaries of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This historic cemetery is the burial place of 20th U.S. President James A. Garfield, Elliot Ness and John D. Rockefeller. Lakeview also houses many rare plant species, including the Japanese thread-leaf maple.
Lock 2 had a beautiful stone spillway, a wasteway channel to protect the lock and a basin where boats could tie up. In 1847, it was the site of a coal loading operation the Old Messenger Coal Slip, which carried coal from Rogues Hollow that was loaded directly onto 7 to 8 boats a day.

The Massillon Museum, a local art and history museum, has major collections of photography; costumes and textiles; china, glass and pottery; domestic appliances; and circus memorabilia.
The Mathews House in an early example of Greek Revival Architecture in Navarre. The home is a brick common bond with brick lintels and sils. The entablature is plain in the Tuscan Order with an enlarged frieze and architrave. The original door entrance had a transom above with large slanting pilasters at each side. The plain frontispace above the door carried out the trimwork of the plain entabliture of the roof line.

Built in 1847, this typical frame-house, with two rooms downstairs and two upstairs, was modified into the popular Colonial Salt Box style. It stands today as a vignette of how various canal-era families lived. The house, named in honor of one of the several families who resided here, is furnished in an 1800's style. The Ohio & Erie Canal Railroad Tunnel along the Towpath in Stark Parks, is a 150-foot-stretch that takes you under the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad.
Located on 325 acres in Cleveland's industrial heart, through the villages of Cuyahoga Heights and Valley View, the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation offers unique opportunities for discovery. Tucked amid the Shortline railroad trestle, pipelines and steel mills are the lush fields and forests of the river valley. The reservation follows a portion of its namesake, the historic 309-mile Ohio & Erie Canal.

Located along the eastern shore of Sippo Lake, the Sippo Lake Marina is the perfect stop during a visit to the park for fishing and boat rentals.
The homestead was built circa 1821 by Quakers who supported the anti-slavery movement. The home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Network to Freedom.

The St. Helena III docks and departs from the Canal Fulton Canalway Center and can carry up to sixty passengers down an original section of the Ohio-Erie Canal. The canal trip is just a little over two miles round trip and takes approximately 55 minutes to travel.
